CEA (Chaska Education Association) of Eastern Carver County Endorsed. Thank you to all of our teachers and support staff!
As I share my excitement about running for School Board the most common questions I am asked are:
What do you stand for?
What is your agenda?
Here are my answers:
I do not have a personal agenda. There is no specific cause I am fighting to have adopted or supported by the school board.
I do stand for a school district focused on preparing each student for life after high school. To me, this means our students know how to learn, have been encouraged to ask questions and discover their own interests and talents. Our students need a well rounded foundation of skills and an understanding of how those skills build upon each other. This can be accomplished by keeping our priorities on personalized learning, continually reviewing our curriculum options and keeping the best teachers and support staff. My goal is to help keep the conversations happening in the boardroom focused on the classroom.
My second priority is Communication. Families need easy access to their students’ records and progress. Timely and accurate communication must come from the district to teachers, students, families and the community. The better we communicate with each other, the smoother things will run.
I would like to hear from you. What are your priorities?
